Routine & Acute GP Consultations

GP consultations are needed to diagnose complaints, prescribe a new medicine, monitor an ongoing prescription or order a blood test.

It may be helpful to give some brief details when booking as our reception staff can arrange the most appropriate appointment for you.

Requesting Your Appointment

Please note a GP surgery receptionist is not simply someone who answers the phone - they are specially trained to help you get the most appropriate treatment as fast as possible. In order to do this, they may need to ask you questions about why you need to see a doctor.

  • When an appointment is for a specialised procedure please specify when making the appointment.

  • Patients with more than one issue to discuss should book a double appointment to ensure that appropriate consultation can take place. Otherwise, patients may be asked to book another appointment at a later date so that all complaints can be dealt with in a safe and thorough manner.

  • Urgent cases will be seen on the day where possible but we may not be able to offer a choice of doctor or time.

  • If more than one member of a family needs to be seen, separate appointments should be booked accordingly.

ONLINE BOOKING

Appointments can be made through our online booking system . Our patients can book an appointment with one of our doctors or nurses.

Download the Pippo app from the app store. Select Kingsford Medical from search menu and complete the registration process. You will receive a text when your registration is complete and you can then start booking your appointments in your Pippo app.

Please note this service is ONLY FOR EXISTING PATIENTS

You can still call the surgery in the usual way to make an appointment if you prefer. Please note that same day appointments do not show on the online booking system so if you need an appointment urgently please call us on 01-5676300

Appointment policies

Delays and Cancellations

While every effort is made to run on time, occasional delays are unavoidable and we ask for your patience and understanding in these situations.

If you are unable to attend an appointment we would appreciate notice of cancellation as soon as possible so that the appointment can be offered to another patient.

HOUSE CALLS

House calls are generally reserved for the very ill, housebound or elderly because of time involved for the visiting doctor.

Children can generally be safely brought to the surgery.

All house call requests should be in before 11 am where at all possible to allow the doctor to organise his/her schedule.

It is important to give as much information as possible to the reception staff at the time of requesting the call so the doctor can triage the urgency of the calls and prepare appropriately.

TELEPHONE CONSULTATIONS

During the Covid pandemic we did many of our consultations by telephone, we are now back to face to face appointments only and are not doing telephone consultations as a rule.
